
2009 CHAMPIONS HONORED AT BANQUET

Cheektowaga, NY…The Empire State Pullers officially concluded the 2009 season with the annual awards banquet held Saturday night, November 14th. Some 200 guests gathered at the Buffalo Airport Holiday Inn. In addition to the season point champions being crowned, many specialty awards were also handed out.
Special guest, Kristi Chastain, representing the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League was in attendance for both the banquet and the meeting.
Tom Durfee earned his second championship in the Modified Tractor division. Puller of the Year honors went to Mark Cole.
Winning the Heavy Super Stock title was Henry Everman and Puller of the Year went to Roy Metz. 1
Jim Meeder was honored for winning the Light Super Stock title. Puller of the Year was awarded to Ben Clark.
The 2WD championship was won by Al VanOstrand. VanOstrand was also Puller of the Year.
In the Super Farm division, Rob and Tom Zorn were awarded the championship. Puller of the Year went to the Meyer Pulling Team
Specialty awards included, Rookie of the Year, which went to Mark Cole. The ESP Pull of the Year honors went to the Langford group. The Sportsmanship award went to Roy Metz.
A special treat this year was the comedy act of Dan Neavereth and Accordion Bill, who had the crowd laughing hysterically. Plaques were handed out for the top finishers in all classes and the specialty awards.
